New Training Module - Pump Station Construction |

A recent pump station project involving eight liquid pump stations, engineered and managed by Vanderpool Pipeline Engineers, provide the back drop for this new education module. Pictures all the way from initial clearing to final operations demonstrate the process. This module can be taught on a stand alone basis or in combination with other modules (see classes) to meet client specific needs. |

Abnormal Operations is Under Development |

Using National Transportation Safety Board case studies taken from actual pipeline accidents, this class currently under development involves class participants in analyzing what went wrong and recommending corrective actions. It will be 3 hours in lengh and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2009. |

PkD Presents Pipeline Fundamentals for the New Engineer |

December 3 and 4 we taught a class for a liquids pipeline company at their site. The class consisted of new engineers, most with experience in other industries.
Selected comments from that class included the following:
- Covered cathodic protection well.
- Good overall industry information for us newbies.
- I liked the construction techniques section.
- Photos, personal experiences, and history were great.
- I liked the Scada, Control Room, and Major Components sections.
- Good broad over view.
- You put a lot of energy into this class - thanks.
- Very good training for someone new to the industry.
- I liked the broad information base that was covered.
