What Terms Mean and Stuff Looks Like

Ever wonder what the diference is between MOP, MAOP, and MOAH.  How about high or low res pigs.  If so PkD has a class under develoment just for you.  This 4 hour class tentatively titled A Pipeline Pictorial Glossary - What Terms Mean and Stuff Looks Like is intended for those new to the gas and oil pipeline industries who need an intermediate knowledge of terms so they can better interact with clients and customers.

PIpeline Control Room Operator Training Available for Public Use

Thsi course has been taught 6 times for a major crude oil pipeline operator and is now available for industry use.  It is 7 hours long and consists of the following topics:

  • Introduction to Hydraulics and Fluid Flow - 75 minutes
  • Equipment - 90 minutes
  • Failure Causes and Modes - 30 minutes
  • Pipeline Integrity - 30 minutes
  • Leak Detection with Scenarios - 60 minutes
  • Power and System Optimization - 45 minutes
  • Advanced Hydraulics and Control Examples - 120 minutes

Attendees have generated a number of e-mails to optimization engineers requesting additional information and suggesting changes and improvements to operations.
