Class Overview

Skills or knowledge, which is more important.  Of course the answer is both.  Skills are needed to get things done.  Knowledge is needed to understand when and why those tasks they should be performed, react to anormal situations, and produce creative solutions.  PkD focues on pipeline knowledge and leaves specific skills and operator qualifcation (OQ) training to others.

Class participants gain foundational knowledge about the oil and gas pipeline industry which in turn,

  • gets new engineers and operators off to a faster start,
  • helps  pipeline support professionals understand how their job fits in,
  • allows supplier and vendor personnel to understand the customer perspective,
  • provides attoneys, reglators, local officials, and legislative staff the background information they need.
